Seven newly appointed Burundian ministers take oaths

Seven newly appointed Burundian ministers on Tuesday took their oaths before Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza and several Burundian top officials.

The ceremony took place at Kigobe Parliament House in the Burundian capital Bujumbura. The appointed ministers committed to devote all his or her energy to defend interests of the nation and to combat any genocide and exclusion ideology.

After taking the oath, each minister signed in the book before members of the constitutional court and bowed in front of the Burundian head of state and the parliament.

The seven new ministers who took their oath are Public Security Minister, External Relations and International Cooperation Minister, Justice Minister, Energy and Mining Minister, Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Communal Development Minister, and the minister for solidarity, gender and human rights.

The Burundian president had appointed them in a government reshuffle that took place last week on Nov. 7.
